I have felt absolutely no signs of Diabetes.
-No Blurred Vision
-No extensive hunger/thirst
-No frequent urination
-No cuts or scars slow to heal
-etc.

Do you think it could possibly be pre-diabetes?
I do drink a lot of soda which makes me wonder if its not.
I won’t hear back from my doctor for quite awhile, so I won’t know for sure what it is for at least another week.

The elevated bilirubin means there is a liver or pancreas issue. Causes include:

-cirrhosis
-Blockages due to duct stones or cysts
-pancreatic cancer
-long-term viral hepatitis

Your dr has to diagnosis what is causing the bilirubin and sugar spikes. The blood sugar issues seems a symptom rather than a cause. Most diabetics do not have bilirubin issues at diagnosis.

Just before lunch it was 165 mg/l. I take one tea spoon of herbal drug twice a day. Any one help me.

Its nothing to worry about your sugar level even its high. Diabetic cannot be from one week ago. You may just come to know one week ago. So the best treatment is to start exercising and having some diet program.
So please try to eat low cholesterol, low fat food for few weeks.

I also just diagnose my diabetes 1 month ago. And my fasting sugar was 208, and after 2.30 hrs of lunch, it was 249. But now my sugar level is in normal level in this one month without any medication. I just exercise 1hr, 6 days a week and I control my diet. Even my A1c test comes 10.4. So doctor was really surprise. But now I am in under control by my daily exercise and diet.

So my suggestion is just start exercising without any second thinking. Just walking is also good. And if your BMI is more then 25, please try to reduce below 25. You can control your sugar level before its too late. So first consult your doctor, test A1c, and also consult Nutritian.

I am 17 weeks pregnant with my second. My first I had Gestational Diabetes and with this one my glucose levels have already been on the higher end. Doc is pretty sure I will be Insulin dependant again at some point during this pregnancy. Yesterday and this morning, however, my blood sugar levels were all around the normal-low range (and I didn’t change anything about what I would normally eat for the day). My before lunch reading was even borderline too low. My question is if this has happened to anyone else with GD, or if this could possibly be an early sign of a miscarrage? I haven’t felt pregnant in a few weeks (mainly because my morning sickness has finally ended, hurrah!) Any stories, or insight would be much apreciated : ) Thank you in advanced : )

Glucose metabolism is a complex thing, especially during pregnancy. Blood sugar variation is a natural phenomenon, but it’s the range of these sugars that are the important thing. Current guidelines suggest pregnant women should keep fasting sugars less than 5.9mmol/L and sugars 1 hour after eating less than 7.8mmol/L. As long as you’re maintaining these levels, you’re lowering the risk to your baby and yourself throughout this pregnancy.
With regards to could this be a sign of early miscarriage, that’s highly unlikely given that increased stresses to your body would typically raise blood sugars. Also, it’s still early in your pregnancy, and you’re more than likely to notice your sugars rising the later on in your gestation.

I’ve had normal tests all the way through this pregnancy, but lately I get these dizzy/weak spells accompanied by a cold sweat. Both of my parents are diabetic and I know that signs like that can either mean blood sugar is too low or too high.
I tested my blood sugar the other day when I felt like this and it was 120, which from what I understand is normal in someone who does not have diabetes. Well I felt like that again earlier and I tested it and it was 97, which my mother said was kinda low and that I needed to eat soon.
Can gestational diabetes just suddenly appear at the last second? Or hypoglycemia which is lower-than-normal blood sugar?

no
they pick it up early around 28 weeks so they time to get your diet and shots under control

It’s possible, but not likely that you will have severe complications as long as you keep you blood sugar under control. However, if you smoke or drink or do drugs, you will be more at risk than other smokers, drinkers and drug users. You should also try to exercise and eat healthy to help avoid complications

I have been craving sugar throughout my whole pregnancy and I’ve been eating a lot of candy lately, been trying to stop. I’m 26 weeks and I have my prenatal appt on wednesday to do the one hour test. I am far from overweight (5’4 127 lbs), obesity does not run in my family, and i dont have PCOS. (I heard all of these things increases the risk). However I have been urinating A LOT which i heard is a sign. Are my chances high?

Here’s how it works: eating sugar can’t case you to get gestational diabetes. It’s a genetic predisposition and there’s no way to tell completely that you will get it or not – you can guess by risk factors, but it’s not a guarantee.

However, if you have that genetic disposition, eating too much sugar will DEFINITELY affect whether you get high blood sugars during pregnancy. In other words, you could be predisposed for GD but if you ate like a gestational diabetic throughout your whole pregnancy you could avoid high blood sugars and would only show high on the actual test. The test would force it to show up because it’s a big dose of sugar/glucose all at once that measure how you react to sugar.

If you don’t have the predisposition for it and eat sugar all the time it will be bad for your teeth and weight gain, but your blood sugar will never go high. Your body manufactures enough insulin to cover as much sugar as you eat.

You don’t have to be overweight. A common indicator is if someone in your family tree is a type 2 diabetic, and certain ethnicities are more prone that others like Native Americans. Good luck!

Hi, I’ve had low blood sugar in the past and I looked up the symptoms for diabetes and I have:
Frequent urination
Excessive thirst
Increased fatigue
Irritability

Just wondering if the sypmtoms are the same, or if my low blood sugar could eventually lead to something else. Or maybe I’m just paranoid, lol.
I’m a young teen if that helps.

Diabetes and low blood sugar are totally opposite of each other, but it is very common for a diabetic to have bouts of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) when they take too much insulin, don’t eat when they should, and a variety of other reasons. Low blood sugar can cause nausea, sweating, shakiness, confusion, passing out, coma and even death. Many people that were hypoglycemic for many years find themselves being diagnosed with diabetes later on. Seems like for some (me included) that hypoglycemia can be a prelude to diabetes. You do have some symptoms of diabetes and you should be checked by a doctor to be sure. A person can be hypoglycemic and not have diabetes. My husband has had it most of his life and some times it is very bad, and he can have multiple low blood sugar episodes a day if he isn’t careful to eat like he should. Here are some more of the most common symptoms of diabetes. They are symptoms for both types of diabetes.

Constant thirst
Frequent urination
Constant hunger
Irritability
Blurry vision
Itching skin with no rash
Reoccurring yeast infections in women, itching penis in men
Frequent boils
Leg cramps
Burning tingling sensation in hands, feet, arms, or legs
Slow healing wounds
Headaches
Nausea or vomiting
Get tested ASAP
