Diabetes symptoms only appear when blood sugar is VERY elevated for a long period of time, so if you're only slight elevated, I wouldn't expect you to be showing any symptoms of diabetes. The pancreas and the liver work together, so if your blood glucose is elevated, that could have something to do with the functionality of your liver.
References :
The elevated bilirubin means there is a liver or pancreas issue. Causes include:

-cirrhosis
-Blockages due to duct stones or cysts
-pancreatic cancer
-long-term viral hepatitis

Your dr has to diagnosis what is causing the bilirubin and sugar spikes. The blood sugar issues seems a symptom rather than a cause. Most diabetics do not have bilirubin issues at diagnosis.
References :
http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/bilirubin/faq.html
