I’m 32 years old

one of the things that led to my diagnosis of diabetes was that my vision was blurry and i had headaches, when i was tested for diabetes my sugar was so high the doctor wouldn’t let me leave the hospital because they said i should have been dead.

Be sure and let your eye doc know you have diabetes (it’s the number one cause of blindness in the US).

I hate to ask this.. but could you be suffering the onset of age related eye trouble? Happens around age 40.

    Look at this web site:
    http://diabetes.webmd.com/tc/Type-2-Diabetes-Symptoms

It says that blurred vision could be "related to high blood sugar levels, which interfere with oxygen delivery to the cells in the retina"

If the eye doc says everything is ok then don’t panic. Just be careful and monitor your health very closely and don’t shrug anything off. Always inform your doc of any questions or concerns you have.

I’m a retired old duffer with type ii and was told that i’d probably need to get the eyes checked after i’d been on
the meds for 6 mos to a year, don’t know why, but the diabetes
definitely screw up the eyesight (especially us old guys)

I had the same thing happen to me. When you get your blood sugar under control, your vision should be normal again.

I have had Diabetes for almost 22 years. When I was about 15 or 16 I stopped taking care of my illness. My avg bloodsugar was about 350 to 450. I was always tired and had blurred vision. Then when I was 19 I started to get back on track and got it under control again. I am 24 now and have 20/20 vision and no more blurred. I do belive that the amount of sugar in the body dose play a role in your eye sight. Keep your sugar under control and your vision will return to normal.

I had a similar experience about a month before I was diagnosed with diabetes. I wear glasses and went to my optician for a review because I was due for one and I had blurry vision; looking through my glasses actually made it worse. When I was diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic I was told that the blurry vision was because of a) my high blood sugar levels at the time and b) as a diabetic your eyes are prone to attack and therefore can deteriorate because of the diabetes. You should ensure you get your eyes checked at least once a year to assess how they are doing.
