And let me tell you from experience,you don't want to take gestational diabetes lightly. I lost a baby in 2000, he was a full term stillborn... I had gestational diabetes and I had NO clue about it at all. The baby weighed 11 pounds at birth. My next pregnacy I again had gestational diabetes, but had amazing health care this time around. Even with the amazing health care, he also grew really fast, and there were other complications. Luckily he was born, we had him by c-section 4 wks early... he weighed 8 pounds and 13 ounces, but thankfully he was healthy... Non diabetics do not reach such extremes.
