I need some advice about diabetes…? 3
Dec 04, 2009 | Diabetes Blurred Vision
I was told by a nurse that I had an elevated glucose level and billireubin count.
She said she would have to call my doctor who is on Medical Leave to tell him. She never said what my levels were, just that they were elevated.
I have felt absolutely no signs of Diabetes.
-No Blurred Vision
-No extensive hunger/thirst
-No frequent urination
-No cuts or scars slow to heal
-etc.
Do you think it could possibly be pre-diabetes?
I do drink a lot of soda which makes me wonder if its not.
I won’t hear back from my doctor for quite awhile, so I won’t know for sure what it is for at least another week.
The elevated bilirubin means there is a liver or pancreas issue. Causes include:
-cirrhosis
-Blockages due to duct stones or cysts
-pancreatic cancer
-long-term viral hepatitis
Your dr has to diagnosis what is causing the bilirubin and sugar spikes. The blood sugar issues seems a symptom rather than a cause. Most diabetics do not have bilirubin issues at diagnosis.
