If I’m pre-diabetic, will I still experience some of the signs and symptoms of diabetes? My fasting blood glu 4

Oct 27, 2009 | Signs Symptoms of Diabetes

Oh, I know exactly what you are going though since I was diagnosed as pre diabetic before I got full on diabetes. When I was pre diabetic I found myself being very thirsty, an increase in the amount of times i used the facilities and headaches when I had high blood sugar levels. So yes it is safe to say you will experience some of the signs and symptoms of diabetes and if you don’t take care of yourself, they will only get worse on the road to developing full on diabetes. Good Luck and do what you can now to prevent it!

Is it possible i have diabetes at age 23? 23

Oct 24, 2009 | Diabetes Blurred Vision

I’m only 23.
But i have PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) which i know can increase the risk of diabetes.
I’m overweight.
I’ve been suffering with blurred vision after big meals, and feeling weak.
Is it possible i have diabetes at my age?

The answer is yes. A person can develop diabetes at any age.Being overweight is a bad thing for anyone especially someone that is a diabetic..If you get your weight under control, this is the first step to control diabetes if you have it. you should see a doctor and soon. Tell him/her your condition.

What is gestational diabetes? 4

Oct 24, 2009 | Signs of Gestational Diabetes

In a previous question I had asked if I was having early sign of pregnancy. I said I was experiencing stomach cramps, spotting, mood swings, early morning headaches, and a yeast infection. Someones reply was that I sound pregnant, I could lose it, and I could have gestational diabetes. Please Help!!

Gestational diabetes is a sugar glucose/insulin impairment th@ happens only during pregnancy. It can cause a LOT of health problems for both you & your baby. There have been instances where babies have been taken early for the mother’s sake, the baby’s sake or both. Get to a doctor immediately & have them check for this condition!

Frequent urination and extreme thirst, but it’s not diabetes 3

Oct 24, 2009 | Frequent Urination Sign Diabetes

I’m still 16, I have frequent urination just like UTI but with 24 hours extreme thirst, it’s like diabetes but it’s not, no matter how much i drink i still feel thirsty, I can’t sleep because the thirst and my throat and mouth really dry and smelly,I checked my urine at hospital 2 times but they said there’s nothing wrong with my urine, I thought it is UTI but i dont know if UTI make ppl thirst, I live in agony and craving for water for months!,I take anti-biotics and probiotics and nothing happen, help? what should I do? What is this disease, i tried google but it’s hopeless, i’ve never met urologist before and i wish i can avoid from urologist to check my penis and balls lol

Not meaning to scare you or anything, but it sounds like Type 2 Diabetes. Trust me, look it up. Your not seeing any results with the anti-biotics because Type 2 Diabetes is not bacterial. Nothing will show up in your urine either.

If it is Type 2 Diabetes, it is fairly easy to handle. I wouldn’t worry too much. But go get it checked out in case you do have it!

Thanks and I hope this helps!

If you have diabetes type 2 and you keep your blood glucose levels around 100, can you still get neuropathyy? 2

Oct 24, 2009 | Blood Glucose Diabetes

I watch what I eat and take the Metaformin and still I am getting terrible toe pain from nuropathy and half the time I can’t see to read or write a letter. Is my body still being damaged even though I am doing good at trying to control my blood sugar?????????

Diabetes is a progressive disease and doesn’t start at the time of diagnosis. Most diabetics have had it for a few years prior to diagnosis as their blood sugars were gradually creeping up. As we all know it’s a very individualized disease and you may had had some nerve damage occurring prior to and after diagnosis.

There are specialists that can definitively determine if that’s the case with both your feet and eyes.
