Is it possible that i have diabetes? signs listed? 7

Oct 27, 2009 | Diabetes Blurred Vision

For three years i’ve been experiencing the following:
-weakness in my whole body
-exhaustion
-unexplanable rashes
-thirst for water increasing
-blurred vision
diabetes does run in my family. the most recent to have it was my grandpa on my moms side. i want to ask my mother to take me to the doctor because i had the worst experience last night where i couldnt walk and my legs were really tingly. on top of that, my head was feeling light and dizzy.
also, im 14 years of age, 5′4 and weigh 102 lbs.
also, im very athletic.

Yes. I just got diagnosed with borderline diabetes. I have all of those symptoms except I do not have high blood pressure. My glucose levels would go from one extreme to the next, but they have been staying pretty high. I also have been getting really tired during or after I eat and they said that’s pretty normal. Have them do a some blood test.

frequent urination? could be diabetes? 7

Oct 27, 2009 | Frequent Urination Sign Diabetes

Hey all. I’ve noticed lately Ive been urinating alot more then usual. Im a 17 year old female and I decided to keep track for today. I urinated 10 times today between the times of 10am and 10pm. ( this is not counting the times i get up at night, usually once maybe twice) I also kept track of my fluid intake. I drank about 70 ounces of water and about 40 ounces of diet coke.

My urine was always a pale yellow-clear.

Im worried about diabetes (type 1 and insipidus)

Also: I don’t think type 2 is an option for me. I’m not at all overweight and I’m a pretty active person. I eat constantly, but my weight stays the same. I eat dinner and an hour later I will be hungry.

Firstly you need to get some facts right type 2 diabetics are not all overweight and they can be very active. So you could be type 2 but I think you are urinating a lot because you DRINK a lot .If you were type 1 you would have more symptoms than just urinating a lot. But if you thing you are diabetic then you need to talk to your doctor and get tested for diabetes because if you are diabetic then the sooner treatment is started the better

No gestational diabetes! Yesss! But very low iron. What brand of iron pills do you suggest? 8

Oct 27, 2009 | Signs of Gestational Diabetes

29wks1dy pregnant.

I was so worried I’d have GD bc all signs pointed to it:
- Gaining a great amount of weight (have already gained about 45lbs)
- ALWAYS hungry
- Baby weighed a guesstimated amount of 2lbs5oz at 27wks1dy on u/s. Doc said that she was a big baby.

Proud to say I don’t have GD!

But I have very low iron. What brand of iron pills do you suggest? Preferably small iron pills.

Thanks!

You can also try eating healthier foods and less fast food. Don’t know how you eat or anything, but I always try eating better first before I try pills.

Even with a well balanced diet, you don’t need to take prenatal vitamins because you get all the same vitamins the way you are supposed to when you eat healthy. But please take the vitamins you need if you don’t get them from the food you eat. I’m not saying to stop taking them.

Just try getting your iron from the food you eat. It will help encourage a healthier diet which is better for your baby. Then try the pills if that doesn’t work.

In Gestational diabetes ,which one is better 2 hr or 1 hr blood glucose tests? 4

Oct 27, 2009 | Blood Glucose Diabetes

Some doctors use 1 hour blood glucose test with a target of less than 130. Others use 2 hour test with a target of less than 120.
What will be the impact if my blood sugars are around 160 to 170 after one hour and around or little less than 120 after two hours?

If you aren’t experiencing gestational diabetes then your glucose should never be as high as 160 to 170. Non diabetics do not reach such extremes. You may be classified as borderline.
