To the first answerer if you can read i said i couldnt get an appointment so maybe you should get with the programme and only answer if you have something worthwhile to add
I worried about the same thing with my son and he is now 21 months old, he just could not get enough to drink. I took him to his pediatrician and he told me that in babies and sometimes children that a sign of juvenile onset diabetes is excessive vomiting. I had never known that, So we waited out the thirst and he has calmed down now and is doing fine! Hope it all turns out alright for you.
This is my 2nd pregnancy to last past the 1st trimester. I had no problems with my daughter. I was overweight when I got pregnant, but healthy, no signs of diabetes. Only distant relatives in my family had it, and only 1 or 2 people in my husband’s family. As soon as the Doctor discovered it, I was admitted into the hospital. I was there for 6 days, no IVs, no regular meds, just a fetal monitor 3 times a day, a special diet and insulin only if my blood sugar went really high (which only happened about 4 times). They did an amnio, but they discovered she wasn’t ready yet, and discharged me, with no special meds, just to stay on the diet and check my sugar. I’m very scared. They were in such a hurry to get me into the hospital, and then i just sat for 6 days. The Doctors informed me of all the risks. (stillbirth, that she could be have diabetes, that i could keep the diabetes, jaundice, damage to her kidneys, etc.) Could someone just give me some help/advice???
Did they mention the possibility of giving you surfactant injections to mature the baby’s lungs? I think it would be your best option if your diabetes is difficult to control. Other than that, I would follow the diet they gave you exactly, test your blood sugar OFTEN, and do your kick counts. And don’t be afraid to call your doctor.
does any one know what is caused by this I talked to my doc she sent me to my eye dr which everything came out fine……
I’m 32 years old
one of the things that led to my diagnosis of diabetes was that my vision was blurry and i had headaches, when i was tested for diabetes my sugar was so high the doctor wouldn’t let me leave the hospital because they said i should have been dead.
My husband has a moderately severe case of it. He is on Lantus and insulin 2 times a day. He takes this by injection. He is a bit overweight and has high cholesterol levels. He suffers from kidney failure, diabetic neuropathy. His family history is strong for diabetes. His father had it, his paternal grandmother had it, his great grandfather had it. He does not eat right no matter how I try to make healthy food, he would rather have a greasy hamburger and fries any day. He often sneaks off to the local fast food place to indulge. He worries me to death. His father dropped dead from a heart attack 4 years ago. He was only 65. My husband has diabetes a lot worse than his dad did.He does not heal well if he gets a scratch or cut,and it takes him much longer to heal than it takes me. He also gets these awful boils that have to be treated. He is usually very tired most of the time and has no energy. His fasting blood sugars tend to run around 140. His blood sugars have been over 600 at one time.
I’m a 23 yr old male with some weight issues. I had the diabetes check yesterday morning, however, I’m never hungry in the mornings, and my blood sugar usually drops in the afternoons, evenings, and nights.
However, I’ve been dealing with quite the opposite for the past several years- low blood sugar known as hypoglycemia. I read numerous studies and articles on it and knew that’s what I had.
No, that’s great. Fasting blood glucose should be between 70 and 100mg/dl. Your result is great.
That indicates that you are not at risk for hyperglycemia, or diabetes.
Hypoglycemia is defined as a glucose (or blood sugar) reading below 70mg/dl. This is likely what you would see on a meter if you were to test yourself when you feel lightheaded, dizzy, etc. in the afternoon, evening, and nights.
Are there any diseases or reasons why you would have similar symptoms to that of some one with type 1 diabetes? and if you dont have ALL the symptoms, or if they are sort of on and off, that means you dont have it right?
i really dont know a lot about this whole thing. obviously.
i do know what the symptoms are. just wondering what else they could mean. or if you have to have all of them, etc.
and this isnt for home work. im not that cheap.
Hello, If you have signs of having Diabetes, you will have to know what to look for. The symtons don’t go away. If you are thirsty all the time and using the restroom alot, make sure you see if there are any signs of stickiness on the bath room seat or floor? Are your cuts healing properly? Are you Moody before meals. These signs won’t go away. Get help and be prepared. Have your Doctor run a Fasting Bllod Sugar on you.
Good Luck and May God Bless.

The only way to know if you have diabetes for certain is to visit a doctor for a blood test. Possible risk factors for diabetes include being of certain ethnicity, having a family history, having high blood pressure and being excessively hungry or thirsty. Get checked out for diabetes if any possible symptoms are noticed with insight from a family nurse practitioner in this free video on diabetes symptoms.
